Clean! Probably Bruiser’s most used sign just recently.
Bruiser doesn’t like to be dirty. He will go out of his way to prevent touching things that would make him dirty or leave marks of any description.
Bruiser most commonly uses ‘clean’ at meal times or when he snacks. As previously mentioned in Makaton Monday ~ Dinner, he likes to know his food is ‘nod dot’ (not hot) and ‘nean’ (clean) before he will attempt to touch his food and eat. Even while eating he still seeks reassurance that is it still clean.
This word is only a recent addition to Bruiser’s ‘signabulory’. We struggled before without the sign as Bruiser sometimes didnt register when we told him verbally that something was clean. We used to sign ‘no dirty’ to help him better understand us.
A much loved sign in our house!
