This week has started off just lovely. The weather albeit still cold ish, has been lovely and sunny. Dare I even hope that spring is on its way?
This last week has been quite busy to say the least. Bruiser had his ASD screening assessment Tuesday. I’ll talk about that in a later post. But we came away from that with a mountain of information to start reading and we now await dates for a whole host of other appointments/therapies to attend. I’m starting to feel quite overwhelmed now! Think I need a bigger diary too, that or a PA ha ha! Me and Bruiser also went to his second to last ‘stay and play’ group. I’m going to miss it when it finishes. Its been lovely to mix with other parents whose children are on the spectrum. I’m going to have to keep in touch with them all.
The boys loved going to the park on Wednesday straight from school. The weather was lovely, it wasnt even cold. For Bruiser it was an opportunity to go that little bit further on his scooter. Wriggler just wanted to climb! He likes been high off the ground! This was followed by tea at McDonald’s. Happy Meals all round 🙂
Wriggler’s new topic at school this term is Space and he’s been coming home telling me all about it. He’s taught me a wonderful rhyme to remember the order of the planets ‘My Very Easy Method Just Speeds Up Naming Planets’ and did you know that Mars is the 4th planet from the sun 😉 This led onto Wriggler building a Rocket with the table, chairs and some large blankets on Saturday morning for him and Bruiser and playing ‘Space’! It’s lovely that they play together so well. Yeah there are a few little disagreements but they usually centre around Bruiser not getting the sharing or turn taking. But, Wriggler is really starting to understand more and be more accommodating towards to his little brother even if it does result in a few tears from him along the way. They shared a lovely moment this week when Wriggler shared some music on his tablet with Bruiser, each listening through an earphone a piece.
We spent some quality time at the weekend with some close friends and their children. Bruiser even joined in after a few hours. I say joined in, he played along side them! There isn’t a quiet minute with 5 boys aged between 1 and 6 running around but its great to see them all playing together so lovely.
Bruiser got his first pair of boxer shorts this week! He’s not potty trained yet but will remain accident free when left nappyless in a room with a potty. Watch this space :-). Wriggler has loved playing snap just recently after getting some cards in a party bag. I’ve even been teaching him some cool card shuffling which he thinks is just brilliant. He’s all thumbs at the moment, but I’m sure he’ll get the hang of it.
We even made a little purchase which we collect this weekend coming. A surprise for the boys… cant wait to see their faces 🙂
